The Saskatchewan Cup Speedball Championship Tournament

Sunday 25 May 2008

Registration Starts 8am

Captain’s Meeting 10am

Games Start 11am

All teams guaranteed at least 4 games!

This is the longest running tournament in Saskatchewan. Ever since 1990 4-person teams have competed for the title of provincial champion. Taking place on our Gigantic Speedball field (300' X 130') it requires coordinated tactics and accurate pellet placement.

This event has One Division... HOPPERBALL. Players may not play on multiple teams unless approved at the Captains Meeting by The Head Referee and agreed to by the captains of all teams. Team captains are responsible for having their teams at the chrony station to start chronographing for their game the moment the preceding game starts.

The Hopperball Division, is open to any type of paint gun, except full auto or guns in burst or turbo mode. Players are limited to the paint that can be carried in their paintgun's hopper, or two 100 round pods. Hoppers must be a commercially produced hopper (300 round hoppers are not permitted). 1st place scores 1st place circuit points, 2nd scores 2nd place circuit points, 3rd place scores 3rd place circuit points, and so on. 1st Prize is 50% of the entry fees collected.

The remaining entry fees collected will be donated to the Asquith Fencing Center.

Each team starts at their end of the field with their gun in contact with the start wall. At the center of the field is a flag. The object of the game is to grab the flag and touch it the other team's start wall. The games have a five minute time limit. No points are scored for eliminations. 100 points are scored for successfully hanging the flag. If the flag is not hung, 50 points are scored for possession of the flag at the expiration of time while on the opponent's side of the center line of obstacles. If the player in possession of the flag is eliminated the referees will hang the flag over the nearest obstacle, except in the case of the initial flag grab in which case it is returned to the center post.

Entry fee is $104 per team and paint pellets sell for 5 cents each when purchased by the case. Only paint purchased from the field at the event is permitted. CO2 and High Pressure air will be available. CO2 is $4 for a 20oz and 24oz, and $3 for all others. Air fills are $4 for 3000 psi fills.

Electronic semis may not be set to burst fire, fully automatic, or turbo mode. Any referee who suspects a gun is operating in these modes may immediately seize and test the paintgun. If the gun fails the test, it will be seized for the remainder of the tournament and the game is forfeited with max points awarded to the other team.

BLIND FIRING IS EXPRESSLY FORBIDDEN!!

The chrony speed limit is 300 fps average.

Teams are not permitted to win a game with a negative point score. If both teams have negative scores, both teams will record a loss.

This a 50/50 event. 50% of the entry fees in each division will go to First Place and the other 50% will go to support the Asquith Garde Fencing Center (a non-profit recreation facility in Asquith for the youth of Asquith and area).
